CMS functionality
DaliCMS contains all you need to manage your webcontent in a professional way. Main functions are:
Java- and open standard based
· Dali is built in Java, and is base don open standards (RSS, XML). The CMS runs on top of different application servers, e.g. the freeware application server of Sun.
· High usability by the use of Web 2.0 standards and features
Stability and scaleability
· The DaLi Content and Community Management Platform is built with J2EE technology, and operates within a Java EE application server. This technology has proven its value in industrial environments that demand reliable, scalable (also over more than one machine) solutions. Moreover the application server offers failover support.
Cross browser support
· Webpages that are made with the DaLi Content and Community Management Platform are compatible with most frequently used browsers.
Multi-language support
· DaLi offers support for the use of multiple languages on one site.
Version control
· Different versions of an information item can be kept. Rollback to older versions is possible within the DaLi Content and Community Management Platform administration interface.
Advanced Search
· Advanced Search function: DALI-search allows for search on keywords, Tags, author, date and ...
WYSIWYG editor
· AJAX-based management console for WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editing.
· The use of AJAX combines the best of two worlds: the user comfort of an application, and the cross-platform availability of a webpage.
· Administrators can work in an intuitive and interactive way with the information in the CMS, without having to wait for page reloads.
· This editor contains Picture upload, Sound file upload, Word Doc upload, web2.0 etc...
Image upload support
· Easy-integration of pictures in text content
· Individual support for binary formats, upload of images, automatic scaling of images and pictures.
Picture gallery
· Dali allows to integrate a Flickr badge via the WYSIWYG editor, and to integrate pictures in webcontent.
· Photobook functionality can be implemented on the background, via dedicated templates
· Batch support for uploading pictures to picture Gallery
Preview
· Preview functionality for all authors
Print-support
· Printable versions of all Dali-platform content-pages can be generated for all screens
Additional Modules
Event module / calendar
· Dali CMS integrates easily with all web-based calendars that support the iCal-protocol (google calendar, apple, iplanet (jazz suite)). By using the iCal protocol, advanced calendar functionalities are easily integrated in DALI-platform based projects.
· The DALI event module allows for the input of new events, and the management of events.
Search engine optimalisation
· The information in the DaLi Content and Community Management Platform can be exported as static pages. These pages are optimized for indexing by search engines.
Newsletter and direct marketing engine
· DaliCMS contains a mailmanager (is currently a standalone application, integration of this application with DaliCMS is on the development roadmap). External newssystems can be used, recently the email-garage system was used (KIA project).
Poll Module / User Feedback Module
· Poll module for polling visitors with the aid of custom-defined forms
Navigation
· Flexible, customised, Intuitive navigation (menus, links) is possible by user-administrators.
News-module
· Allows for the management and publication of news items on the site.
· The news can be exported in RSS format, so that user scan subscribe themselves on the RSS feeds.
Mailinglist-modules
· Allows for the creation and management of news letters.
· The news items can consist of texts and/or images.
· The administrator of the DaLi Content and Community Management Platform system can provide them with a layout.
· Users can subscribe and unsubscribe to newsletters. Information on registered users is kept in a relational database, and can be administered by the Dali Platform-administrator.
· Each news item can be exported as a static webpage for direct reference via URL.
TAG-support
· All user-generated content can be tagged by the end-user
· Implementation of tag-cloud is possible
· Enhanced DALI Tag-management and Tag-autocomplete makes it possible for administrators to manage the end-use of TAGS
